Royal Ridge is the seventh of a series of six-story office buildings that UDG designed for the fast-developing Atlanta suburb of Alpharetta. Its design departs from its predecessors by adopting a more dramatic identity and responding to its hilltop setting. Yet the strict discipline of a speculative office building is retained in lease depths and services. The sweeping curve of the south façade maximizes the unobstructed views to the Atlanta skyline and the rolling urban forest before it. The terraced surface parking lot further softens the setting with wide landscaped stripes. Careful site planning retained significant stands of mature trees, yet retained the inspiring views from within the building.
